TERRACE LANE

Project type

Residential - Apartment / Residential - Condominium

Location

Terrace Lane

At Terrace Lane, Alice explores the intersection of minimalism and Japanese aesthetic principles, creating a space that honors both traditions of intentional emptiness. The interior is defined by a carefully calibrated palette of white, off-white, and pale gray, with natural light oak flooring providing the only variation. Furniture is reduced to absolute essentials: a low daybed-style sofa without arms, a simple rectangular dining table with four chairs, nothing more. What distinguishes this project is Alice's attention to negative space empty corners are framed by architecture, bare walls become canvases for shadow play, and the space between objects is treated as carefully as the objects themselves. The kitchen maintains the minimal aesthetic with handleless cabinets in soft gray, their matte surfaces creating subtle depth against white walls. A single open shelf displays four identical white dishes, the only items on view. The bedroom features a Japanese-inspired platform bed at floor level, white bedding, and absolutely nothing else except a single reading light. Storage is handled through a full-wall closet system concealed behind white sliding panels. The bathroom is a study in material minimalism: large-format white tiles, wall-mounted fixtures to free floor space, and a frameless glass shower that disappears visually. This is minimalism elevated to philosophy, a space for contemplation, rest, and the radical act of living with almost nothing.
