GOLDHILL PLAZA
Project type
Commercial - Office / Commercial - Corporate Space
Location
Goldhill Plaza
Alice's design for this Goldhill Plaza commercial office demonstrates how strategic spatial planning transforms generic commercial real estate into productive, brand-expressing workplace. The reception area establishes professional credibility immediately through architectural gestures that elevate perception: a feature wall in textured stone or wood slats adds depth and materiality, company logo integration feels architectural rather than applied, and seating arrangement balances hospitality with security (comfortable for expected guests, visible to reception staff for access control).
The open office layout balances contemporary collaboration trends with acoustic reality, workstation clusters of 4-6 promote team interaction while maintaining focus, transparent glass-walled meeting rooms provide visual openness while containing sound, and strategic placement of soft materials (acoustic panels disguised as artwork, sound-absorbing ceiling tiles in wood-look finishes) manages noise without industrial appearance. Lighting design addresses the dual challenge of computer work and video calls: overhead LED panels at 4000K provide adequate illumination without glare on screens, task lighting at workstations supplements as needed, and meeting rooms feature adjustable lighting accommodating both presentations and video conferencing.
The pantry/breakout space serves multiple functions beyond coffee preparation: casual meeting area for quick discussions, decompression zone for mental breaks, and social hub building team culture. Design here shifts intentionally from the formal office aesthetic, warmer materials, residential-scale furniture, possibly accent colors, signaling permission to relax. Storage throughout is extensive: personal lockers support hot-desking flexibility, filing systems balance accessibility with security, and supply closets maintain operational necessities without cluttering workspaces. Cable management is meticulous floor boxes at workstation clusters, cable trays concealed in millwork, and wireless infrastructure reducing visible technology. This is office design that understands workspace directly impacts recruitment, retention, and productivity creating environments where businesses thrive and employees want to be.
