Clarissa's masterwork at Augullia Park represents the pinnacle of Neo-Victorian design, a residence where every room tells a story of old-world craftsmanship reimagined through contemporary expertise. The entry hall sets the tone immediately: elaborate crown moldings crown walls clad in raised panel wainscoting painted in soft dove gray, while rich walnut flooring with herringbone borders extends throughout the public spaces. The living room showcases a coffered ceiling, a grid of recessed panels with decorative beams that adds architectural gravitas while concealing modern recessed lighting and climate control systems.
Rich materiality defines the space: custom millwork in dark walnut features intricate detailing including fluted pilasters, dentil molding, and carved corbels that support floating shelves. The color palette updates Victorian's traditionally heavy scheme cream walls provide a light backdrop for jewel-toned accents in emerald velvet upholstery, burgundy silk drapes with tasseled tiebacks, and a navy and gold Persian-style area rug that anchors the seating arrangement. Lighting fixtures reference the gas lamp era through brass chandeliers with etched glass shades and wall sconces with ornate backplates, though LED technology provides the actual illumination.
The dining room embraces Victorian's love of formality with a substantial table in mahogany, upholstered chairs with carved backs, and a dramatic crystal chandelier that dominates the ceiling plane. Built-in china cabinets with leaded glass doors display collections while providing practical storage. The kitchen proves Neo-Victorian's adaptability: while the space functions thoroughly modern with contemporary appliances and workflow, the aesthetic remains period-appropriate through raised-panel cabinetry in cream with brass bin pulls, marble countertops, and a decorative tile backsplash in Victorian patterns.
Bedrooms continue the layered elegance with four-poster beds in carved wood, layered textiles (damask comforters, embroidered pillows, quilted throws), and vintage-inspired wallpapers in subtle patterns. Bathrooms update Victorian luxury through clawfoot tubs (or modern versions thereof), pedestal sinks, subway tile with dark grout, and brass fixtures that reference historical precedent. Throughout, modern necessities integrate invisibly: smart home controls behind decorative switch plates, speakers concealed in ceiling moldings, climate systems housed in decorative grilles.
This is Neo-Victorian at its most confident, a home that celebrates historical craftsmanship while embracing every modern convenience, proving that tradition and innovation can coexist beautifully when guided by skilled design vision.
