COMPASSVALE STREET
Project type
Residential - HDB / Residential - Apartment
Location
Compassvale Street
Vincent's Compassvale Street project demonstrates Scandinavian design's remarkable adaptability to family living through smart planning and warm materiality. The open-plan space maximizes the feeling of light and air, white walls meet pale birch flooring, while a vaulted ceiling painted in soft white amplifies the sense of height. Built-in storage solutions line key walls, their handleless white fronts maintaining clean sightlines while concealing the realities of family life: toys, books, electronics, seasonal items. The living area centers on a modular sofa in warm gray fabric, its configuration adaptable to different activities, surrounded by blonde wood side tables and a woven basket coffee table that adds organic texture. In true Scandinavian fashion, lighting is layered: natural light from large windows, ambient illumination from simple white pendant fixtures, and warm accent lighting from table lamps with fabric shades. The dining area features a extendable table in light wood practical for daily meals but expanding for gatherings, paired with white molded plastic chairs that reference Nordic modernist design. The kitchen embraces functionality with white shaker-style cabinets, light wood countertops, and open shelving displaying ceramics in muted tones. Textiles throughout create comfort: a sheepskin rug draped over a reading chair, linen cafe curtains in the kitchen, cotton cushions in soft blues and greens. Multiple plants in simple white or terracotta pots bring life and connection to nature. This is Scandinavian design proving itself endlessly practical, beautiful, yes, but more importantly, genuinely livable for real families.
